  1. Hi future NetCure/Beholder users,
  2.  
  3. The current form of NetCure is stable. We are developing a new version
  4. that will be better, has SNMP support and will be able to answer
  5. remote requests for performance-data. Real Soon now....
  6.  
  7. NetCure Installation
  8. ---------------------
  9.  
  10.      i)    Get a PC with an ethernet-card
  11.  
  12.      ii)   determine the interupt-number, io-address and
  13.            memory-address of the network card.
  14.  
  15.      iii)  remove network software (LANMAN/NetWare) software
  16.            from config.sys + autoexec.bat
  17.  
  18.      iV)   boot the PC
  19.  
  20.      v)    select the correct packet-driver from
  21.            the p*.zip file and start it with the correct
  22.            parameters (see read-me files of the packetdriver
  23.            distribution)
  24.      (vi)  Start NetMon, this software shows packetslength
  25.            types, net-load and the like
  26.  
  27.      vii)  see all the bells and wistles and try all buttons
  28.            (Try ESC !!!!!)
  29.  
  30.      viii) Stop NetMon, and start NetCapt. This program captures
  31.            all packets sent by stations. You can edit the
  32.            DP.INI to configurate which stations you want to manage.

  34. This isn't much of a users-manual, but use your imagination and try
